  1. Last night I orderd two new bikes - one for me and one for Susanne. After a trip to Centerparcs in
September where we spent a lot of time on hired bikes I suggested a bike for her for christmas.

Some of you may recall that I asked for dealer advice back in August - well the dealer I went to was
Mike Cookson in Whitefield, simply because he gave me the best feeling BY FAR. When I first went in
I made it clear that I was not ready to buy, but he still spent time with me showing the bikes based
on what I was asking for. We went in again on Saturday to discuss a bike for Susanne and the lad[1]
dealing with could not do enough to help, even getting a child seat out to check it would fit on the
bikes we were looking at. The bike ultimately decided on was £50 below budget.

Susanne wanted to check a small dealer a little nearer home, but he did a basic answer to a question
and promptly wandered back to the shop. She was then convinced that I was right to like Cookies!

So after all that waffling what are we getting? Susanne is getting a Trek 3500 (rigid forks) with
the dropped top tube, and I will be getting a Marin Hawk Hill.

    I can't wait.

    Paul.

[1] ace customer skills for a comparatively young lad.
