I got a hydration pack for when I do mountain biking. The problem is the very first time I used it I filed it with some dodgy water at the resort we were staying in. Now no matter what I do to clean it, it still has a funny taste and smell. Any suggestions on how to clean it ?
Also, if it does not come clean I'll probably buy a new bladder for it, suggestions on how to keep the new one from getting this same symptoms.

Try a solution of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) in water, use about 200g per litre. This works quite well for the plastic taste in new bottles, and is also very cheap to use.

When my water bottles start getting funky, bleach does the trick. It kills most, if not all bacteria.
