  1. BBQ RULES

We (in Australia) are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is
important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor
    cooking activity.

When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put
    into motion:

    Routine...

    (1) The woman buys the food.

    (2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.

    (3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with
the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is
lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

    (4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter
exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding
activities can take place without the interference of the woman.

    Here comes the important part:

5 THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL

    More routine...

    (6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.

    (7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He
thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat

    Important again:

    (8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

    More routine...

(9)The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces,
and brings them to the table.

    (10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

    And most important of all:

    (11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off."

Upon seeing her annoyed reaction he concludes that there's just no pleasing
    some women... <BG>.....

LOLOLOL! You're absolutely right. There is no pleasing them. You
guys do all that work, for WHAT? A disgusted stare.

oh hell no. I still get a lot of mileage out of the "I birthed the
babies and then I nursed 'em for years" kinda stuff.
He bought into that division of labor stuff nicely. I cook, he cleans
(but of course he uses the dishwasher..it is more energy efficient than
    handwashing.)

You're describing the halcyon days of the US male in the early to mid
sixties. It's much different here now. If I can find the looking glass,
I'll be there with you in wonderland in a jiffy. What's that address
    again?

Absolutely a TRUE rendition. . .But, everyone realizes that many men
can only cook if FLAMES, and SWORDS are available. And, a hefty
    amount of BUDWEISER.

One question; who goes to work and earns the money that bought all the food,
the kitchen equipment, pays the mortgage, pays for the wardrobe/shoes that's
10 times the size of any man's, and makes the car payments?

If the answer is "the man" then I think he's earned the right to sit back,
drink a beer, and relax without anyone [censored] about it.

My brother attempts to refer to this as the "line of death" but we
just laugh at his puny attempts to keep us out of the cooking zone.
He'd never ever be able to enforce a 3m line of death!

It's not about understanding anyone's "place in life", it's about whether or
not one person is the main provider and doesn't deserve to be ridiculed or
belittled for their efforts. If you think this is about splitting chores,
you're wrong. It's about not [censored] on someone who puts a roof over your
head. Lastly, if you think working a full-time job is a "chore", I'd suggest
that your "place in life" should be on your knees.

And so you don't think that women contributes as much as a man and even more
??.. The position that a wife and Mother has in the household, the endless
work that she does, the Washing and the ironing that she does for you, to
keep you comfortable, and the entertaining she does for you for business
etc... You are far overpaid then...She is usually worth a lot more than you
ever would be, with that sought of attitude...

I lost my wife 19 years ago and were left with 2 infant children to raise by
myself ..I had to resign from my work to give them a full time parent with
them...I tell you that my work never seemed to finish...The work was
endless...A woman is in most cases overlooked in what they do to raise your
children , etc... That would be the most selfish post of anyone I have ever
read...Talk about an ego...Boy..You have a lot to learn even yet...Provider,
of the roof over her head (not forgetting your kids)...You say working a
'full-time' job that you profess to do...The woman's job is not one that
starts at 9 am and finishes at 5-6 pm..5 days a week... Like you probably
even do or did !!...Hers is a 7 day job arising well before you and cooking
your breakfast and feeding the kids then off to school with the kids ,then
home for washing and ironing (your clothes) and shopping and picking the
kids up etc, etc, etc....ad- nauseous... Your post absolutely disgusts me..I
am sure the women (and the caring men ) would agree with me....

    Jeeees....:-((

  17. Dear Mrs. DAVLO;,

Jest what kinda beer does your husband drink anyhow? It does sound like he
takes some good care of you but maybe helping each other with the chores
would be a nice way to treat one another. It is sorta odd that his shoes
are so small. A small man with small shoes ordinarily caries around small
    tools.

I know three men who had that attitude to one degree or another. They
remained unmarried into their 40's (thought they were ladies men) and
when they did marry, they married for the wrong reasons. Reality hit
and they found out married life was a lot different than they ever
imagined it would be. They also found out that *staying* married was
a complete struggle because women don't put up with that foolishness.
Two of the three are not married anymore and rightfully so. Big ego
and little thought or consideration given to their spouses, but they
still felt sorry for themselves when the Big D hit.
