The more I thought about this, the dumber it sounded. Maybe you don't
know sophisticated when you see it. There was NOTHING sophisticated
about MAT's snarling [censored]. Some of it was so childish,
I was embarrassed for you, that you'd not only come to his defense, but
that you'd EXTOLL him as the paragon of creativity in this newsgroup,
that it's somehow above the level of BRT's. If I was the only person
who thought this, you might have a case, but I'm not alone in thinking
Thrope is nothing more than a typical troll. In my opinion, he
demonstrates the low level of creativity and intelligence emboldened by
anonymity. Just take a look at the e-mail address he's given himself:
High_Colonic (at WebTV). "High Colonic." Get it? You do know what a
colonic is, right? This is a person, like BRT, who thinks references to
the bowels is on its face funny. Like an adolescent, he thinks that the

know about him, and his posts only reinforce my initial impression. Of
all the names to choose, and all the time in the world to think it up,

To put it as simple as I can for you, Doug, he's not only just a troll,
he's not particularly inventive. But trolls NEVER are. If you think
he's more than that, I suggest you run less and spend more time reading
literature distinguished with subtleties and REAL irony, works of REAL
imagination. Maybe a little poetry. You think like a retired civil
servant who never had to challenge himself much. Thrope is such a
risible creature, I found him EASY to mock, for all sorts of things,
using the very technique he himself is so proud of: ambushing the
unsuspecting. The trick is to attack him out of the clear blue. It's
EASY. There's nothing sophisticated about it, not the least bit. Make
the other person the object of ridicule FIRST, reduce them to cheap
entertainment. It's EASY, Dougie. I can't emphasize it enough, how
easy it is.

So it's this: You either permit trolls are you don't. I don't. NONE of
them. They're all worthy ridicule.
