  1. Thursday is the day I go through my selection of the food sections of
online newpapers. It's a good cross section, and I might only get one
idea from all of these, but it's usually something unique, and we like
to try new things in our house.

You have to register to see some of these. Some of them let you see a
few recipes free, then you have to register. I have a throwaway Email
    address for that purpose.

    Anchorage Daily News

    http://www.adn.com/life/taste/

Baton Rouge Advocate. Not much today, but one of my favorites.

    http://www.2theadvocate.com/features/food/

    Chicago Tribune

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/food/

Los Angeles Times. I saved Baked Apple Ice Cream and Boozie's Apple
    Cake recipes from this one.

    http://www.latimes.com/features/food/?track=leftnav-food

Houston Chronicle. I saved Interstate 45 Cream Cheese Cake and the
grilled cheese collection. I also saved the article on shiso to take
to my local sushi chef, who never heard of it.

    http://www.chron.com/life/food/

    Akron Beacon Journal

    http://www.ohio.com/lifestyle/food/

    San Jose Mercury News

    http://www.mercurynews.com/food

    San Francisco Chronicle. Another favorite.

    http://www.sfgate.com/food/

    Fort Worth Star Telegram

    http://www.star-telegram.com/food/

Miami Herald. Today I saved the Spiced Chocolate Walnut Baklava and
    Red Velvet Cupcakes recipes.

I saved your links as "Food reviews in the news" for later.

I used to have a huge collection of newspaper food pages urls,
which I went through every week. Then I lost them all. I
half-heartedly put together a new, much shorter list, but it
ended up taking MUCH too much time to go through them every
week. I really should put together an abbreviated list.
    Thanks for the reminder.

Most of them come out on Wednesday, so you don't have to wait til
Thursday. Here in NM, I can even read the NYT food section on Tuesday
    night...after midnight eastern time.

I saved the ice cream recipe too.

The L.A. Times has one of the best food sections, along with the SF
    Chronicle.

The Des Moines Register (www.desmoinesregister.com) has a pretty good
food section on Wednesdays - yesterday had a recipe from a contest-
competing ($50K prize) cook, along with some other stuff. Take a
    look.

Oops, forgot to mention that yesterday's food section also included a
review of chocolate cake mixes, all the way from a $14 one (overpriced
and ended up at the bottom of the list) down to a supermarket brand at
    $1.79. Interesting comparisons.)

I'd like a recipe (authentic) for those zucchini patties stuffed with
    cheese. Sounds good!
