I am looking to buy a bike in the very near future and like the looks of the Trek 7.3FX. Im going to see if I can ride one on Tuesday, but I really like looks of it and the specs. Reviews I've read seem to have good things to say. I want to use it for commuting around town, usually not more than 15 mile round trip, and maybe some very light touring, about 100 mile round trip. Anyone have any complaints or compliments for this model? Also I dont plan to do any off road riding. I plan to stick to the streets.

A mate just bought one last weekend and is loving it, good value for the money- i think they about $800AUS? He bought it for similar use to yours.
He gave me the impression though, that sticking to the road, and well made ones, at that was a good idea. It didn't seem to be coping too well with any 'big bumps' 😉

I actually got to ride one and then ride a Specialized Sirrus. The Sirrus is the way Im going to go. I like the longer top tube. I wish it had drop bars though. Neither one does but Im not willing to convert one. The cost of replacing the brake system, shifting system, and the bars is more than the price difference in the Sirrus and a better bike with drop bars already on it.
