  1. This has been on the news for a few days here and I don't think any
one has mentioned it. I know how much you love dogs.

No problem, as long as we're allowed to step on them like bugs. Reminds me
of a Far Side cartoon that I'll be you've seen....

Yeah - another pit bull thread, I presume?

It's marked ON topic because it is. If it wasn't I'd have played in
the pit bull thread. I rarely get involved with OT posts in any
group. If you don't want to read it that's fine.

What about when someone's pathetic nervous little dog takes a leak on the
floor near your foot? Or, worse? Most well-adjusted people would find the
smell of feces doesn't mix well with lunch.

Does France still allow dogs in their cafes?
And if so, I wonder if the French that hate dogs, do they stay home?

I guess I haven't seen the cartoon. But I wear size 13 shoe and
almost always wear large boots. I could smoosh a good sized dog. If
not there's always the possibility of a salad fork planted in the dogs
    face.

That's basically it. Big brutish guy sitting in his easy chair, wife in the
kitchen. The caption's something like "There was a huge WHOOMPH, and then,
no sound other than the football game on the TV". Small dog is stuck flat
to the bottom of the guy's shoe. 🙂

Lol, I don't like dogs, either...

It just goes to show that our Chicago City Council is REALLY on the
ball...what with important stuff like foie gras bans and allowing pooches in
    outdoor cafes.

Meanwhile, a bus ride is going up to $2.50, there is talk of a property tax
hike, etc. So much for "the city that works", gah...

My other dead dog favorite (from Larson) shows a big car full of cats
speeding away from a house, and in the yard, a dog house riddled with bullet
    holes. :-) Gangster cats!

Was it the Far Side where a rather large woman roamed around calling her
little dog, and in the last frame, when she turned her back to us ...

Exactly. The goofy article said most people own dogs which is
[censored]. I think it's about 20%. I doubt I'm wrong by assuming most
of the remaining 80% don't want to deal with dog waste, hair, barking,
begging etc. I can't tell you how many people I've seen put their
plate on the floor for the dog to finish. So the dog sits there
drooling and licking its ass and then cleans its owners plate. The
plate is on the ground. The server cleans the table and brings me my
food with those same dirty hands. I will never eat at a dog friendly
establishment. I've seen enough disgusting incidents in private homes
to subject myself to paying for that filthy behavior.

Not to mention the smell of dogs...

Now, someone will come along here and repeat one of the most popular
responses: "Well, dogs don't like YOUR smell, either." Of course, that
response is of absolutely no consequence, but it makes them feel smart to
    say it.
