Well whats your price range? start from there. Also how often will you be riding it and for what purpose? -

for that price range there really isn't much... the ones in that price range are usually something you would find in k mart, wall mart, or sports authority. Although the best beginner road bike would be the trek 1000 a little more then your 400 maximum at about 510, but it is still a great bike for what you pay for it
