  1. Marinated grilled vegetables, Texmati rice with butter and
sesame seeds and grilled lemon/butter/garlic shrimp.

Usually a summer type of dinner, still it was nice on a
    dank fall day like today.

    Fall? FALL !?!?

It's probably going to be 98F tonight at the Cardinals game, and
unless you sit in the pricey sections, the only beer you can get is
    [censored] like Bud Light.

    Fall? FALL !?!?

I know. I'm not complaining, it's been in the 50s when I get up
in the morning and I don't think it made it to 65 today. I'm wearing
sweats. Been like this for a few days now.

Wacky weather. It'll be hot again by Friday.

I'd take a pass, but then I don't drink beer.

Talk about [censored] beer - I have no pride, I drink Natural Ice. It's
cheaper and gets ya drunker quicker. I choke down one 40 dreaming it
    was Bud Light.

Sounds good! We've been taking advantage of this nice fall-like weather the
last few days. I made my chicken-corn soup (with extra rivels!) tonight
(oldest daughter is sick, and that soup really hits the spot for her, sick
or not). Last night's dinner was a sort of cottage pie, made with leftover
diced turkey tenderloin mixed with gravy and some frozen peas and carrots,
and topped with leftover mashed taters (mixed with shredded cheddar). It was
    quite good and very comforting.

Supposed to get back into the 90's here soon enough...

I'd FAR RATHER drink Nat Ice than Bud Light. Nat Ice is cheap and
high in alcohol and tastes like [censored]. Bud Light is medium priced, not
particularly high in alcohol and tastes like [censored]. In fact, the only
AB product I ever DO drink is Nat Ice. I chug a 24 in about 2 or 3
minutes. Then the rest of the night I drink something nice like Sierra
    Nevada Pale Ale.

That's the next level, for sure. I've done it, or its equivalent.
The 9% stuff. Really nasty. Still, it's cheap, highly ethanolic, and
some folks can dump it down very quickly without gagging. It is what
it is, an alcohol delivery vehicle. What I don't get is [censored] like
Coors or Bud Light. People act like that's good drinking beer, when
it is just as bad tasting as the malt liquors..

    Hm.

I oughta make some fresh stock and a pot of rice too.
    Good idea!

We had a definite summer day yesterday, and the neighbors upstairs
had given us a dozen or so of their garden tomatoes, so for dinner I
bought a big ciabatta and layered tomato slices with slices of
whole-milk mozzarella on it. A little olive oil and basil on the
    bread. Heaven!

Nice!! Does sound like heaven to me.

Last night we had a football game, so Ron made a tailgate sandwich
with a round loaf of bread, prosciutto, goat cheese, roasted peppers,
tapenade, salami ... I forget what else. Compressed. Delicious.

And plenty left over, that is one hefty item.
