I recently installed a compact crank on my Centurion LeMans (50/32) and a 6 speed freewheel, well my derailuer crapped out and I am wondering what to look for, it does need to be compatible with indexed shifting the current on is a Shimano Light Action.

Replace it with the same or higher end Shimano.

Front or Rear?
For Front, check the tube diameter, steel may be 28.5mm,
A FD 2200 or Sora will do ok.For Rear, is is frame or Axle mount?
Frame, again a 2200 RD is OK,
Axle, a RD-TX30 REAR DERAILLEUR 6/7-SPEED AXLE MOUNT.
