Speaking of state fairs, one enterprising vendor at the Iowa State
Fair was selling beer on a stick. It was a hand-held device like one
of those can-holders you can stick in the ground next to your lawn
chair. Put a cup of beer ($7 I hear) in it, and you're good to go. I
can't find the advantage, though....

Very true. And likely a more appealing choice to the average beer-

Deep frying does not improve most things. Fish & chips are
delightful, but a lot of thing they bread and fry like shrimp,
mushrooms, cheese, veggies are not improved.
