Hi Graham - we can but try :-)

    Split it into two parts.

    1) Nant to rhyme with Pant

    2) LL - try saying an L without uttering a vocal sound - breath only

    3) e - The "e" sounds like the "A" when you say A,B,C

Put it all together and you have Nant ll e

There is a slight emphasis on the Nant part.

Thanks Bill. I knew it wasn't Nan-tel, but was unsure how the lle bit
    sounded at the end.

I was told (by a speech therapist from Wales) that this sound is called a
'lateral l' (might not have remembered it correctly, but the 'lateral' is
the relevant bit), so do the 'll' out of the sides of the tongue, keeping
the tip up against the roof of the mouth.
I was being taught some Welsh pronunciation during a ramble along the top
of Crib Goch, so possibly didn't pay as much attention as I should have!

You don't understand Newton's Third Law of Motion?
It's not rocket science, you know.

Sound about right - perhaps the tongue should be touching the gum (not
the roof of the mouth) immediately behind the upper front teeth.

This explanation may be a bit picky, but more specific.

Yes, you're probably correct, I took it to be where I had the most 'input',
but the tip is just on the gum.
Reminds me of a Chinese lass in a Spanish language class: she said that
she'd have a problem with rolling the Rs, I said that she'd have to roll
her Ls - she didn't turn up again.
