In our family, birthday celebrations go on and on and on ... and always
involve more food than necessary:
Last Sunday, my granddaughter took me to Brasserie Jo for duck confit with
tiny dark lentils and frisee. Is there anything quite so tasty (or quite so
lethal) as duck fat?
This morning, Junior Daughter and I had brunch at the Oak Room at the Copley
Plaza: obligatory mimosas, lobster eggs benedict with "rare" poached eggs,
and Boston cream pie in the form of a cake.
And next Sunday will be the official extravaganza. (If the Queen can change
her birthday celebration on whim, so can I.) Senior Daughter is hosting a
dinner to include my old college roomie and a few of The Girls at
Aujourd'hui at the Four Seasons. Stay tuned..
They may be shortening my life, but I do love having such a family of
enablers.
