Got a similar pic on my website.....

I reckoned it was such an unusual angle that it would be nigh on impossible
for most people to get it as they dont usually venture into this valley.
Especially as that ridge looks so jagged.

So shall we keep em guessing?

There's an old quarry nearby if i'm right (if i'm not i'm going to look
stupid!) and that's probably taken from the tramway.

I considered the Nantlle Ridge, but dismissed it cos I was looking at
the wrong part of the ridge and from the wrong side.

Out of interest, has anyone on here managed to follow that crest? It may be
that the path does follow it, but the nature of the land beyond it means
it's more of a cliffside walk than a ridge?

All being well there's a VERY good chance i'll be camping in a position to
take the same shot tomorrow.

Looking down from Trum y Ddysgl it looked like a cliffside walk walk with
the option of a scramble if you wanted

Are you wild camping? There looked like some some excellent options around
the tramway. As an alternative in the valley, there was a very basic site at

Did the walk, and i think the best way to describe it is that it's like the
Ranger path is to Cloggy. I spotted some of the pinnacles visible in the
picture, but the path skirts around them and i reckon theyre well beyond
scrambling.

Made an absolute hash of the wild camp. Decided on reaching Garnedd Goch
that i'd camp down towards Mynydd Graig Goch. Of course, no water anywhere
and the valley was full of heather - no nice spots.

I should have turned around from Garnedd Goch and returned towards the
tramway as i'd planned initially as it left me in a prime spot to climb
Hebog the following day. Kicking myself i am.

That said, i had a good walk across the whole range, with full pack, and
paid for a taxi to take me from work tonight so i'd get Snowdon in too!

If there was an expedition there (or anywhere local-ish), i'd probably put
my name down for that.
