Dave, I know you are a wonderful son because I have watched DH take care of
his father thru two kinds of cancer, a number of operations and ongoing
care. The big hurdle is over, but he still watches over him and drives all
day (another day back) to take him to important office visits (and believe
me there are many). When he is not there, he speaks with him every day,
sometimes twice, and calling doctors, etc.

I love to hear stories like yours. Your mom is lucky to have such a great
person at her side.

I'm sorry to hear of your mom's illness. D (my wife) lost her mother
last March to a massive stroke. It was two weeks of hell as we tried
to hope and lost hope and sometimes found it again day-to-day.

I'm happy to hear that your mom is on the mend. Take care of her as
you are able, but remember to take care of yourself, too.

Dave, it is a wonderful thing you are doing for your mother. I hope her
appetite improves, with time. My mother had a series of strokes, which
is why I moved to Louisiana. She is doing much better and I have learned
to enjoy retirement. I thought I would never retire, but I am loving
it. Best of luck with your mother, I will keep her in my thoughts.
