  1. Just caught this on pvr after returning from a short break to the Lake
    District (see another thread).

Julia had a great day for Catbells! Unlike her trip to Helvellyn. Pity
they had not been done in reverse. The views from Helvellyn are much
    better than those from Catbells.

There seemed to be an inordinately long sequence in the boat over from
Keswick. Perhaps because the actual walk is not very interesting - just
a straight slog up with only a bit of very minor scrambling to relieve
    the monotony.

When I climbed Catbells a couple of years ago, I went "round the back",
taking the path counter-clockwise past Skelgill, which contours round to
Yewthwaite mine. Then up to Hause Gate and returning over Catbells and
down the route Julia went up.

Couldn't get near the summit for the crowd! There were at least three
coach trips up there, at least one of which was of elderly ladies in
    summer dresses and the like!

I like the aerial photography in these programmes better than the actual
accounts of the walk. Especially on walks I've done, it puts everything
into a perspective you cannot get on the ground.
