  1. We are contemplating the purchase of an induction cooktop. I see both
advantages and disadvantages, and would appreciate any comments from any
    folks who have used them.

    Thanks,
    Vic

    Hi Vic,

Sounds like you understand the basic principles of it being more
expensive to purchase than others, in addition, you may need to change
pots & pans you currently have. Energy saving shouldn't be important,
    unless you run a restauraunt.

It's a quick responsing unit and better than gas when it comes to
safety. I love the idea if I boil water dry....it will turn off. The
thing can sense when to turn itself off! . Now that pretty cool.

I recently purchase an AEG (24" wide) built-in introduction hub. It's
been approx. 1 year of practical experience for me. I must say, it's
probably the most powerful, responsive cook top I've used without a
doubt. Whatever setting you like; from mark 10 to mark 2 or the
reverse from 2 to 10; it will roar it's way to that specific setting!
Certainly a different experience and you need to get use to the idea
that 'real' power is at your finger tips.

    Just my thoughts and experience.
