I've always struggled with finding a rhythm with my breathing while cycling.
So, last night, I just decided to try breathing through my nose only (inhale and exhale), and do really deep breaths that take 3-5 seconds each.
I did this at 175 BPM and 80 RPM for 90 minutes, and it felt great.
Are there any concerns with slow breathing during aerobic activity? This worked really well for me, and felt natural... like I finally find my rhythm on the bike.

Breathing in through your nose is definitely the way to go. Try breathing out your mouth. If you want ot improve your O2 uptake and exchange, try holding it for 2-3 seconds before you exhale.
