Last night I hopped on the Tour Easy & rode to the hardware store. First corner I noticed the back wheel felt soft. When I got home I pumped the tire to the recommended 80 lbs.
This morning (6 am, still very dark) I started the commute to work. In the dark it took me a couple of blocks to realize the back tire was completely flat. I turned around, walked the TE home & drove the car to work, arriving 5 minutes late.
Tomorrow morning I'll change the tube and look for the cause of the flat. I expect to find a puncture. On my old DF I experienced only two flats ever, each time the sudden result of road hazard. Both times I road the flat a couple of miles then replaced both the tube and the tire. Now I carry tubes & tire wrenches, but this morning I had already ridden my flat two blocks before realizing it.

Is it likely that I've ruined my tire?
