I am in the process of replacing my DA triple drivetrain.I am a 110kg rider who dosen't shy away for all but the very steepest climbs (when my front tire comes off the ground).
I do have some fair power on the flats and prower up rollers fairly well.
I can only get about 2000 mi on a cassette and maybe 1500- 2000 on chains.
The most I've gotten on my chainrings is 6000 mi.
I was woundering how others compare to these satistics.
I am pretty good at maintenance (cleaning/lube).
I'm concidering a compact but I don't think it will work for me unless I drop 15kg.
What kind of life do you get from your drivetrain? Thanks Mark

Believe a lot depends on where you ride. I got 10K miles on my DA 9 speed cassette, 6K miles on the first chain (on new cassette) and 4K miles on the second one. FSA Team Triple chainrings still OK at 15K miles, but then I've never had much problem with the front rings. Seems they can tolerate wear a lot better than the cassette cogs.
Spending money to go to a compact makes little sense to me if you've got a perfectly good DA triple set up. After all, no one makes you shift to the little ring. Saving around 250 grams by changing out the triple really doesn't mean much....just leaving a water bottle 1/3 empty saves that much for a lot less money 🙂

Last chainring that I replaced was a 40 tooth with almost 18K miles on it. You could see the hook shape on the teeth where they had worn. My last brand new chain lasted around 8K miles since I have changed my chain lube. This was with a brand new cassette.
