I remember when my mom had these weird oval popsicle things made by Tupperware. She froze Kool-Aid in them and called them popsicles. They were good but not nearly as good as the real thing. <wink>

Actually, it makes sense. The more you sweat the more your body cools itself off (by sweating). It's like Arabs wearing dark clothing in the desert (notice I didn't spell that 'dessert'😉. But I wasn't making a political statement. I love a glass of good cold ice water (water from the tap, not a bottle!) or iced lemonade and popsicles in the summer. F*** the Arabs... I'm wearing shorts and a tank top. Sorry if it offends your sensibilities 😉

It works, eating/drinking something cold on a hot day only gives a very temporary "cool" feeling. Your body compensates by raising its internal temperature and overshooting making you feel even hotter.
It is the very same hysteresis effect you will notice with sugar. You fell like you are dragging so you eat a candy bar. Now you suddenly feel great because your blood sugar goes up. Then your system produces a large amount of insulin to compensate for the sugar but since all that sugar isn't natural it produces too much insulin which causes your blood sugar to spike low causing an even heavier dragging feeling than before you ate the sugar.
Sugar spikes are awful! You know those frozen slurpee drinks out of the machines at 7-11? I love the lemonade ones but within minutes of finishing one I can't hardly keep my eyes open.

Yup, their "Pop Goes the Weasel" tinky-tune is beyond annoying. This year, they've finally been forced to tone it down, though, so I can just barely hear it through my A/C, closed-up house.
Banana popsicles are the BEST. I wish I could buy a whole box of nothing but banana flavor.

Maybe she just made them wrong. If you're going to make Kool-aid popsicles you have to make the Kool-aid with only half or one third the amount of water you normally use. Popsicles made with regular straight Kool-aid are too watery.

Maybe she just made them wrong. If you're going to make Kool-aid popsicles you have to make the Kool-aid with only half or one third the amount of water you normally use. Popsicles made with regular straight Kool-aid are too watery.
make one of those no-bake cheese cakes, well the filling anyways. Pour the filling into the popsicle maker and freeze.

Banana popsicles were always my favorite. Everyone else in the family like cherry best, followed by orange and grape. I had the banana ones all to myself, and I think we mostly threw away the nasty rootbeer flavored pops.
I was just at Dierbergs this afternoon and they had entire boxes of nothing but banana popsicles. It caught my attention but since I'm currently the only one in the house who will eat banana popsicles and it was a pretty big box. I don't know that I'd finish them quickly enough to avoid freezer burn, when they get all syrupy and sticky and gross.
