Was doing interval training last night on the trainer. My basic routine is to cycle at 70 - 80 rpm for 5 minutes and then sprint for 15 seconds.
Anyway, Mrs Ouzo walks in as I hit the sprint part of the routine. She takes great joy in seeing my legs flex, so as I take the rpms up she shouts faster, faster in encouragement. So me trying to show off increase the RPM's to a never before reached point, I actually hit 185 RPM. Mrs Ouzo said my legs disapeared they were moving so fast.
Normaly I max out at around 155 RPM, ' just goes to show what some encouragement can do

If your legs were a blur at 185 rpm to Mrs Ouzo (that is about 3 revs per second), I suspect Mrs Ouzo had been over-imbibing in her namesake (the Greek national alcoholic drink) or something equivalent 🙂
how hard was the resistance turned up on ur trainer? That sounds like a very good effort!! i have hit 220rpm on a flat road with my 39x21, about 230rpm on rollers but that scared me......bit shakey at that speed. Definitely encouragement helps, just dont start laughing!!!
Wow you guys...200 plus rpms huh? That's amazing. I do intervals on my rollers regularly...I'm thinking my best rpm was 160 in my 53X11...that's about 54mph...but only for a brief time...can't even imagine 234 on rollers....what gear? What speed? Just not enough resistance...you get to the point where you need some resistance to go faster...
And yeah, they're Kreitlers, and they are so smooth 🙂
