I'd go Manitau or Marzochhi.
Manitau have the Black and the Sherman, depending how hardcore you want to get, both with about 3 sub-models.
And Marzocchi, i've never ridden with them, and never ridden with anyone with them, but on every freeride bike you see in mags, theres Marzocchi up front.And the elite freeriders use them too.

Marzocchi, Marzocchi, Marzocchi. If you can't pull-off a new one then I'd have to suggest a used Marzocchi (ebay or wherever). Without being disloyal to Marzocchi, I really did enjoy the one ride I had with a Manitou Sherman. Great fork, but I'm on my 3rd set of Marzocchis (I've bought 2 new and I used) and have loved them. They have plenty of options that are all stiff, plush, reliable and user serviceable and under 4 hundred new. With a Marzocchi QR 20 or Sherman you can skip the "issues" with dual crown forks on a non-DH specific bike. Have fun and enjoy the hunt. Ride well.
