I'm a young (22) newbie to cylcing (1.5 years), but became fasinated with TT's after our local club had a 10 mile TT and I competed in the last one. So I'm looking to train for the 10 mile TT's next year and am wondering what to do over the winter. I have heard both side from weight training. I into lifting as well, and would like to gaim size/strength (or don't I?). I guess the way I'm use to is hitting the weights in the winter where I do 2 sets of 8 reps to failure. Working full body split into three days. I also try to sit on the trainer but not sure how long and what to ride.
Quesions: 1.) What should I do for weights? Is strength training going to help in a 10 mile TT? I still want to lift some right? 2.) What should I do on the trainer (since Iowa, US has snow during the winter)? Should I ride 30 min hard? 2 hours spinning? Do intervals?
Please help me because I just LOVE cycling now and want to win a TT next year! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

1) No, weights are unlikely to help. 2) Do all sorts of sessions, check out the threads with the forum member 'TTer' in them. They will answer all of your questions.
