  1. Last month I posted a report of my frame cracking at the BB.

I returned it through EBC to Ridgeback and they agreed that this was a
warranty issue. In the meantime, I went on holiday. I rang EBC this
morning to see how things were going, to be told that the bike was ready
for collection. A couple of things were missing from the reassembled
bike, but they have all been more or less sorted out and despite handing
in the bike sans chain and pedals, it has acquired some. EBC were not
particularly concerned with removing them when this was pointed out.

All considered, despite the initial reason, I can't fault either EBC or
Ridgeback. They have turned the whole thing round without any hassle
    very quickly.

IIRC, the initial thread drifted onto what would happen if it had been
acquired under the cycle to work scheme. By coincidence, I am adding to
my stable through the C2W scheme. I asked the provider about this and
his opinion was that I would be the registered owner on their system,
not my company, or Halfords. I do not know how much this would apply to
other bikes. Details, including the appropriate pr0n pics, will be
provided after I get my hands on it.

Some people have one of those days. I have one of those lives.

Congrats, and well done to EBC and ridgeback.

EBC probably wanted to hand your bike back in a working
condition, hence the pedals and chains, which they may
regard as a good will gesture.

    Martin.

Good work fella. Although I no longer ride a Ridgeback myself, my
children have done and still do. And given my after sales experience and
the quality of the bikes they produce for kids - Ridgeback is still on
    the preferred supplier list.
