Front Cantilever Squeal/Shudder

I had much less squealing with Tektro Oryx brakes than with the Avids.

Heard good stuff about the Oryx. Can't beat the price.

I'd make sure that the mold release was off the Kool-Stop pad first.
Remove it with sandpaper, or a small box plane. Clean rims as well.

Avid shorties are notorious for this. Tektro oryx are supposed to
be better.

Common by these and other Avids, so much so that Sram will warranty
any of them. Go to a bike shop. Sram has 'warrantied' these by giving
us chains in exchange. ALL of the Avids squealed..4s, 6s, all of them.
Look at Tektros or shimano cantis-nicer gear-no squeal.
