Profit margins? Those micro baby carrots are to thin because they're
probably the remnants of regular carrots after the shavings are used on
the pre-mixed, pre-packaged salads available at most grocery stores
(YMMV), but that's just a guess on my part.

I buy them for my grandson to eat raw. He has braces and is not supposed to
bite into raw carrots. These are soft enough that he can eat them. I'm
thinking people with dentures or other dental problems would like these as
well.

They have gotten skinnier. I buy them for my lovebird to snack on. Usually
they have a nice fat end that fits snugly in her treat-holder. Now I find
them falling out the moment she starts to nibble on one. I guess I'll
switch back to real carrots for her.

My main supermarket sells the regular baby carrots and then "mini" baby
carrots.

no.... but it must be something like grated carrots only sturdier.
Use them raw, not cooked. What are they called? Matchstick carrots
would have "sides".
