Skiddaw summit pic needed

The next question is what do you want to use them for? Personal use? Website
use? Commercial or non-commercial? Copyright is a complex thing.

Someone might be a bit more forthcoming if you're specific about exactly
what you intend to do with them. For example, I'm happy to let people to use
my photos for some purposes, but not others (before you ask, I have none of
Skiddaw).

Didn't intend to be vague about the use of pictures, they will be used in a
walk I'm doing for www.walkingworld.com .

I submit some walks I like and have dune for year's to walkingwourld. But
the pics I have of approaching the summit past the stone wind-brake and the
stone pillar with a metal plate on top aren't the best due to low cloud so
thought it was worth asking if any one had any pictures they wouldn't mind
me using.

Thanks for that. I've had a quick look at the site and it's obviously a
commercial site, stuffed with ads, selling subscriptions and even selling
PDFs of the walks themselves if you're not a paid member.

In the early days of the site you got £20 expenses per submitted walk, then
it dropped to £10 and now you get a small yearly commission from any of your
walks that are downloaded, couldn't tell you how much it is per download but
it's not a lot. In any case I never set out to make money from it I enjoyed
doing the walks and would be doing them any way and got satisfaction out off
sharing walks with others and some of the nice comments I got back from
fellow walkers.

I'm sorry if anyone thinks my request for the pictures in question sounds
like a money making thing that is not my motivation for submitting walks.
Also I have followed and enjoyed help and have given it on many topics to do
with walking in uk.rec.walking over the years and do not intend to cause
suspicion or offence.

I'm sure it isn't, and I didn't mean to imply that it was. I just wanted to
clarify the situation. As I said, copyright is a complex thing and pro
photographers have to be careful about this sort of thing.
