Bit closer to home today with a walk from Walderton Village. Very mild on starting out, and got better as a little sun shone on our way up to Stoughton Down from Stoughton village. Little woodland walk for a while through Kingley Vale, then down into East Marden. Was hoping for a 'cow free' walk after last weekend's 3 episodes .... but not to be! The field we had to cross from East Marden had a little sign at the stile .... 'Bull in field with cows'. No cows to be seen in the first field, but they were all in the second one with a rather nice brown bull. Fortunately, we only had a short distance in the same field as the bull, and anyway the old chap didn't bat an eye lid to us! Continuing to Pitlands Farm, the sky became darker and the first of the rain started, although not too bad initially. The serious stuff started on the way to Waytergate after Pitlands Farm. Torrential rain, thunder and lightening ... and lasted for the last 30 minutes of the walk. Didn't worry us though, it wasn't cold, and waterproofs kept us fairly dry. Almost stopped by the time we reached the car at Walderton, and sunny on the way back home!
Excellent 10 mile outing, even with the rain. Slideshow at the web address below.

Glad you enjoyed the photos G .... its a place we often walk from, especially going over Walderton Down from Walderton, to the south of Kingley Vale. Great views on a clear day out to the Channel and Isle of Wight.
