Further ? on waterproof jacket

I can tell from just looking at it that it's short, so if you want a
longer one I'd abandon that line of enquiry there!

The Berghaus Cornice Long model may give what you're after, though the
"interactive" zip is pointless and the warm lined collar a bit pointless
a lot of the time, so it's no lightweight.

The Rab Bergen is still shorter than most jackets you would have found
20 years ago, but is longer than many current climbing jackets and is
500g, quite a lot less than the Berghaus.

I was trying to find if they had the info on the Berghaus site and
came across their Long Cornice but it is a good deal heavier than the
Paclite. You'll have to navigate to it from their homepage.

Like most light-weight gear, some of the weight saving is by making the
jacket smaller. Berghaus Paclite smocks are very short. (Nothing wrong with
the product, my other half has one, I will be getting one when my existing
summer jacket is replaced).

If you want the ability to specify exactly what you want, custom made might
be an answer. Slioch is one supplier - www.slioch.co.uk . My heavier winter
jacket is a Slioch, about 10 years old, going strong. Slioch are also nice
about doing minor repairs cheaply. Downside is that I don't think Slioch
have the ultra light fabrics.
