Just wait a few years and the problem will go away.
You will have to wear them all the time ;-(

How true and what a pain. The problem of needing a case doesn't go away
though! I need distance glasses and reading glasses so a case for one
pair is required at all times.

Well my varifocals allow me to do everything including walking, reading a
map etc for short periods. Otherwise I use my Reading or VDU or distance
or TV in the caravan glasses. :-( So I have half a dozen cases scattered
about.

Get them screwed to your ears, then job done. They do make walking over
difficult terrain a bit interesting though.

Sorry I don't see the joke, I'm not sure how I would carry glasses in "a bit
of common sense" and if I'd wanted them dangling on a lanyard I'd dangle
them on one.
Sad to see that someone with nothing better to do than to try to belittle

Thanks Bill, that's exactly what I was looking for, I'd forgotten all about
Gelert. To those who suggested varifocals... not yet thanks, I only need
them for reading although I suppose it won't be long :-(

shop, £1 for 3! One of them is in a case and is 2.5" in diameter. I
find it excellent for planning routes at home.

Perhaps this might me an alternative to carrying a set of expensive
prescription glasses, that you could damage or loose?

My compass has a magnifier built in and I do find it useful.

My eyesight is not that bad yet, although I now use varifocals, I
find the small magnifying glass on my Silva Compass is good to look at
a very small area, if I can't work out the detail.
