Hi group, I am off up the A1 as far as Scotch Corner and am looking for
somewhere other than the usual rip off services where I can get a decent
full english breakfast around 7.00-8.00 on a Saturday morning. I am
heading for the Barnard Castle area. cheers

the rebelToo late for newrebel I know and perhaps out of his way a bit but the
transport cafe at Stainmoor is worth a try, midway on A66 Scotch
Corner/Penrith. Good food, plenty of it and reasonably priced. They start
early and the view whilst eating - STUNNING (if clear). -

Abject apologies - that should have been STAINMORE - sorry, it's about 2.5
to 3 miles EAST of Brough on the A66. It stands on the left (travelling
East) almost at the summit. The cafe is a single story building close by a 2
storey house standing in isolation, it is easier to spot travelling east,
but not so, travelling west as it just over the brow. Care should be taken
turning in when travelling west. -

Kays Cabin just after A1(M) finishes at Peterborough - its behind the new BP
garage
Truckstop at Markham Moor (A1/A57 junc)
Transport cafe about 1/2 mile before Scotch Corner
