  1. I was asked to remove my Tilley hat whilst in Blacks this afternoon.

Are Tilley wearers known for their thieving tendencies?

I was alarmed to hear, last year, that Lowe Alpine is a brand of
choice amongst local ASBO-holders so maybe it's Tilley this year?

At around £50 a hat, the only way the local asbo-crowd are going to get
hold of them is by swiping them from places like Blacks, or perhaps
    mugging you for it :-)

Friend of mine reports that Blacks in Liverpool has been swarming with
security guards recently, to deter people running off with anything with
    Berghaus written on it.

Do Blacks sell Tilleys? I know Outdoors used to before they were taken
    over by Blacks.

Obviously Buffs inna-pirate-stylee with shades are the province of
Upstanding Folk, as nobody in Blacks minded while I strolled around
the place dressed so earlier today... ;-)

    to remove them can they?

When someone does something as stupid as described, I just walk out and try
the mention the name of a competitor just down the road.

Your choice, but most premises have that rule if they have CCTV on
site, hats, caps, hoods etc prevent identification and if they can't
hide, then they are unlikely to commit an offence/crime anti social
    act etc

I just put my "Pillar of Society" society face on. It even works with
    jeans and tee shirt.

What about wig wearers? It'd be unfair to be wiggist.

You should have explained that ladies, unlike gentlemen, are allowed to wear
    hats indoors.
