  1. Why, when I alter a route (either change its name or move a waypoint or
something else) does it do the same to another route in the same or even
other database. Is there a way to avoid this other than giving each route
its own database? It seems to happen when I have copied a route from one
database to another but sometimes for no apparent reason. How can I separate
them / make them independent of each other?

    TIA

    Jon

I've had the same problem. The solution which seems to work is to close
the database containing one copy before starting to modify the other
copy. Annoying, though - I keep forgetting that's what I have to do
    until it's too late.

It's a hard one this, because there are also circumstances where
maintaining the link back to the original copy is very useful. Perhaps
it would be best to have a "Paste and Link" option (like, say Excel) and
    have the copy otherwise independant?

What do you think? Worth an email to Anquet???

    good call, Druidh

the option of linked or unlinked would be useful. Maybe an unlink context
menu on right click would be a solution.

Personally I've only ever wanted it unlinked (and then cursed when I
realised that it was linked and that I had inadvertently modified the
original when I didn't mean to).

However, I can see the advantage of having it either way, as long as it
is always clear which you are getting.

Yes. What's the best way? We could nominate one of us to write on
behalf of us all, but it might be more effective if we do one email
    each?
