Frustrated beginner wanting some advice please.Started running last
December and decided to carry out an ultimate goal the New york Marathon
in November this year.All was going well taking it slowly did my first
10k in April (62 mins not bad for first time i think!)at the race got
told my running style was awful!(by some bloke just overtaking me at
9k)🙁 tried to change style slightly on treadmill bad idea. Have really
hurt my left leg!been going on for 6 weeks now.tried resting for a
couple of weeks.then tried small runs.even going swimming been hurting
slightly.any tips anyone?really dont want to get out of the habit for
too long!Could it be shin splints?

don't take advice from jerks on the road!
(*especially* one who's only just passed you at the 9k point of a 10k!)See a doctor; see a physical therapist; link up with a running coach.
Don't get too ambitious; don't try to advance too far too much too fast.
