I recently purchased a Cameron's stove top smoker. I use it quite often. A great recipe I came up with adds great flavor to Salads.
Cut two tomatoes in half. Drizzle a little EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) over the top and smoke for about 10 minutes.
I used the mesquite smoking chips.
Remove from the smoker and refrigerate. Add to the middle of the salad and enjoy. If you are interested in the Camerons' Stove top smoker, here is a link to their web site. http://www.cameronscookware.com/Stovetop%20Smoker.aspx

I've got one and in fact used it last night. I made smoked chicken breasts. Normally I marinate them in a honey mustard salad dressing, then smoke them. Last night it was with cherry chips. I then take the drippings and make a sauce out of them.
I like the smoker a lot, but don't get to use it as often as I like. The drip pan is solid black on the bottom from the years of use.
I've had mine for close to 20 years. I know it was a long time ago that I got it, because I saw it on the Frugal Gourmet, and this was well before Jeff Smith was accused of his sexual escapades.

I have a letter from Jeff Smith shortly before he died. He said he quit doing the shows because he was disabled (nothing to do with the accusations, although he never mentioned them). He'd been in a wheelchair (seen around around Seattle's markets) well before that. It's one of my treasured possessions, along with a cookbook signed by Julia Child (thank you, Margaret!)
I still use The Frug's method for making pot roast in port with mushrooms (my mother was floored!) and a few other recipes. And his spinach & feta cheese quiche. Bought some feta and spinach yesterday for that very reason. I forgot to buy the crust! (crust is beyond me... not good at that sort of thing).
Julia was always one to watch as the recent French onion soup thread showed. Grand old lady 🙂

I don't know the validity of the accusations, but I'm sure in the end the demise of the show had to do with declining TV audiences (or the prospect thereof) brought on by the accusations. The explanations of people's retirements often doesn't square with the facts. Often the reason given for someone's resignation is that they wanted to "spend more time with their family". I suspect Alberto Gonzales is going to be wanting to spend more time with his family also in coming days.
I did like Jeff Smith's show a lot and wouldn't let what happened stop me from watching it. But there sure was a lot of controversy over it and I recall there was some quite heated discussions of it right here in rfc.

some wag said of one of the bush criminals (i disremember which one) that he was resigning to spend more time with his lawyers.
