The website is nice! It's nice to see all of the smiling faces in the
mug shots. Are the recipes from the rfc cookbook (which I have)?

The recipes on the site are "signature dishes" that folks have sent
in... some may well be in the cookbook, alas I missed out on a copy ๐

Regarding the last survey question, "Do you think certain foods taste better
with chopsticks?", I think some foods are just easier to eat with
chopsticks. For instance, for those of you who like kernal corn or sweet
peas, it's always hard to get those last few bites on the fork. Chopsticks
are perfect for eating veggies like that. Steak pieces, already cut up on a
bed of rice, sliced breaded pork cutlets, salad, pulled pork, dumplings, you
name it. (But we've kind of already covered this. <g> )
Quite so LOL.
But several posters said it "tasted" better with chopsticks - that's
what I wanted to know ๐

Cathy,
As fast as the surveys fly over at the rfc website (which is a good thing),
I wonder how older surveys can be voted on? I know you can view results
from prior surveys but it would be nice to keep them all alive for voting!
Maybe forward my request on to 2D-Jack about that?!? ๐

Andy,
The old surveys will come up for voting again, just like the
Presidential elections - every four years.

๐ Fingers were made before chopsticks!
Fingers are terribly outmoded! Why, we should get
rid of all fingers and only use sporks and foons.
Oh, and lobster picks.

I'm unconvinced about the flavor issue, frankly. I use chopsticks to
eat Asian dishes because it was prepared to be eaten that way. I
think the food would taste 99.9% the same if I ate it with a fork. I
make the effort to use chopsticks to be more culturally aware, and
because it just feels 'right' to me. But if I were hungry and
couldn't find my chopsticks, I'd go ahead and use the fork.

Totally agree. I often ask for chopsticks when eating at a Chinese
restaurant, but in order to experience the ambiance of oriental
dining... has not a whit to do with how the food tastes... to me it
tastes exactly the same whether eaten with chopsticks, a fork, or my
fingers.

Well, as has been pointed out before, Thais are Asian enough and
they mostly use a spoon and fork. I'm totally unconvinced about
taste differences :-)

Couldn't "find" your chopsticks? You don't buy them in those packages
of a gazillion?

Who hates the smooth round ones, because I'm not "that" good. I like
the cheap rough ones, because they have more traction.

I wouldn't say things taste better with chopsticks, but some foods just need
to be eaten with chopsticks.
I guess it's kind of like a texture thing. Texture doesn't change the taste
of a food, but texture can either improve or lessen the eating experience.
Same for chopsticks.

I have one pair that is in my cutlery drawer. But since I've got a lot
of clutter, I can't always locate them. And yes, I DO own a specific
set that I use for take out Chinese food, even if they include a
disposable set with the food. Usually, they don't.
