Frozen Artichoke Hearts

Trader Joe's sells frozen artichoke hearts - do you have one near you?
I haven't looked for them recently in my local grocery - since I found
them at TJ's. I remember them to be more expensive at the grocery -
Birds Eye brand for maybe 3 bucks for a 10 ounce box. TJ's sells a
bag for 2 bucks- not sure how big it is though - at least a pound.

I use them in a Moroccan lamb dish ( I guess you could call it a
tagine) with peas and green olives.

I looked for frozen artichoke hearts last fall and couldn't find them in the
freezer case anywhere. But I did find canned (yep, non-marinated) artichoke
hearts. I rinsed them well in a collander and they worked out just fine.

I thought of Trader Joe's frozen bag of artichoke hearts too, but the
product is severely misrepresented, imho.

Most of the bag was just leaves with pulp. I had to trim the leaves off.

On regular artichoke, by the time you get down to the real heart of the
matter, there are no leaves to contend with.

Trader Joe's should be ashamed, carrying such a product.

Sadly, no TJ's near me. I manage to find either one or the other so I'm
never totally bereft of them when I need some.
They do go well with lamb, don't they? 🙂
