how can Chicken of the Sea make tuna so awful and so good ??
I LOVE Genova Tono chunk light in Olive Oil, it's $2.00 a can. So to save a few bucks I bought a couple cans of Chiken of the Sea Chunk Light in Oil and it's like mush and pretty blah tasting, a bit fishy.
I don't know if CotS makes/imports/distributes the Genova or what but they list it as part of their product line.
Ptooey - ruined my dang lunch.
btw - i don't eat mayonaise, i like to eat the Genova right out of the can 🙂 this other stuff would be ok if i made my Tuna Salad which is with onion & celery & olive oil.

Their tuna in a can is awful. If you haven't tried it, try the stuff that comes in the flat foil bag. You can get it in water or sunflower oil. The stuff in the oil I can eat right out of the bag. The water version is good, but a little too dry for me. They also have albacore in the bag as well.

After being on a low fat diet for so long, I'm not sure I could even buy tuna in oil. However, my wife has been making a recipe that uses tuna in oil, and it's not bad. (Not sure what tuna she uses, though.)

I buy Bumblebee in the bag with water, chunk lite.
Albacore is the stuff with the most mercury in it.
