    Abstract
A 49-year-old woman was admitted because of hyperglycemia. On a
delivery at age 29 iron deficiency anemia was indicated. She was
injected with 40mg of saccharated ferric oxide every two weeks until
age 40. At age 35 menopause occurred. Serum ferritin increased
(4,300ng/ml). An abdominal computed tomogram (CT) showed increased
hepatic CT density. Iron deposition in the parenchymal cells of the
liver was shown in a biopsy specimen. Secondary hemochromatosis was
diagnosed. Her gonadotropin release decreased. After 30 months serum
ferritin had decreased gradually to the normal range after daily
1,000mg injection of deferoxamine mesilate. Although the hepatic CT
density decreased, gonadotropin release and insulin release were not
    improved.

  8. "After 30 months serum

    Now this .. "normal range" .. is .. ?

No way "near iron deficiency" .. I would . bet ..

Seeing the amount of iron they injected into this woman over the
years .. their take on the whole deal is .. 'standard of care' ..
automotons .. and soooooo .. they would STOP this iron depletion
therapy somewhere .. very .. **high** .. to .. "make sure you don't
    die of iron deficiency" ..

As evidenced .. many times ..

Whereas .. evidence based medicine shows by going down into what they
consider to be .. near iron deficiency .. leads to .. NOW ..
'significant recovery' .. as opposed to this woman who they .. fkg ..
near killed .. and NOW refuse to treat ..

    "Although the hepatic CT
density decreased, gonadotropin release and insulin release were not

    Anybody .. disagreeeeeeeee .. ?

Successful treatment of erectile dysfunction and infertility by
venesection in a patient with primary haemochromatosis.

Department of Internal Medicine I, University of Regensburg, Germany.

A 36-year-old patient with primary haemochromatosis presented with
erectile dysfunction. Laboratory findings revealed reduced levels of
    luteinizing hormone (0.4 IU/l; normal range 2-12 IU/l), follicle-
    stimulating hormone (0.1 IU/l; normal range 1-12 IU/l) and
    testosterone (0.49 microg/l; normal range 2-8.1 microg/l). We made
    the
diagnosis of secondary hypogonadism due to haemochromatosis, which is
generally supposed to be irreversible. Due to consequent venesection
therapy, levels of ferritin and transferrin saturation could be
normalized, and levels of luteinizing hormone and follicle-
    stimulating
hormone increased to normal ranges. Also, testosterone levels became
normal and remained so without any androgen substitution. The patient
subsequently regained erectile function and potency. This case
underlines the fact that a hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism caused by
iron overload can be reversed by a consequent venesection therapy.
