Cost of Hepavax in the 1980's was somewhat high compared to the income of a
dental student. Now-a-days, it seems to be less expensive, especially since
they now use a synthetic vaccine. Compared to the cost of the illness, the
vaccine is dirt cheap.

I think you generally pay about $75 per injection (series of three).
Someone want to update my cost estimate?

most useful. I would think that the severity of the disease would
justify everyone getting a vaccination regardless of risk group. Or,
is the cost very high?

Currently in Ontario, all teenagers are vaccinated free of charge against
HepB. Keep in mind, not all will attain an immunity status. I had to pay
for mine as a dental student 18 years ago and from what I remember, the
three shots were about $200. I got a booster shot a few years back and it
cost me about $50 for one dose. Keep in mind, drug prices in Canada are
generally less than in the United States.

Cheap price to likely prevent a horrible disease.
