I remember thinking to myself watching the slo-mo replay that it
looked like he was in a bigger gear than the others. Using a bigger
gear than he wanted didn't seem to adversely affect his performance
however.

He's Tom Boonen, that's a little like being Chuck Norris, but with a bike.

He had that gear on there for a reason.

He got a nice little gap there, after having to wait a moment for a
clear line to the front.

Glad I saw and recorded that one, as it was a fine winning effort by
