I bet he was in a serious amount of pain once the rush wore off, though,
because of the strain that would have put on it.

It sounded as though the crash wasn't caught on tape. But if he does
nothing else this Tour because of the injury, that'll go down as one of the
great sprint performances.

Yesterday's stage winner Robbie McEwen came back from a crash like a shooting star to win the sprint in Canterbury. Despite having banged up his knee and wrist pretty badly, he told Sporza that he slept well and has less pain this morning. He'll be in the action to take on Boonen, Hushovd and the other sprinters in Gent.

Twas a fantastic ride!!! I watched it live(ish) on Sky and the tension in that last 20k was amazing!! The British Eurosport commentators were going mental because there was a crash and then Cavendish (welsh youngster) crashed into a spectator and then had bike trouble and THEN wasn't allowed to draft the cars back to the bunch.. THEN McEwan goes down after being hit from behind and is somehow magically transported by his team back into the fray and takes an unbelievable 1.5 bike length win over the likes of Booneen who had a leadout train!!!! Unfsckingbelievable!!!!

More Spoilage!

How was the pileup on Stage 2?? Damn!! I'm still waiting to see the injury list from yesterday. Lots of riders were limping over the line, including Cancellara although he seemed fine putting on yellow again. The UK got a consolation prize with Millar taking polka dot and keeping it. I'm not sure Boonen will be all that happy that Steegmans won that stage.. hehe.. I reckon Steegmans is faster anyway. Dunno what Boonen is doing these days but he seems as he was last year - a non winner.
Did anyone see the motorbike go into the ditch? Hope that dude's ok! Ouch!
