I guess my Captain must think I know what I'm doing..... There are still folks from the class that graduated before mine that are riding double, but I just finished my first week riding alone in my own car. Seriously, the greatest thing about it, aside from not having to choke on second-hand smoke, is I have TOTAL control over what radio station I listen to!!!!!!

Congrats. Maybe your size had something to do with it, and I don't mean that in a bad way and don't want to take away from your other capabilities. I think the second hand smoke would be worse than having to listen to music I disliked....unless it was opera!
Now go kick some criminal butt! Oh and where's the bike rack on that car?

I can't believe they let someone smoke in the car with someone else who doesn't smoke. That would drive me [censored] insane! Seems like a potential health risk too, although maybe not the immediate kind of risk things like being shot at pose.
What kind of cruiser is that? How do the fit an 8 in there or is it just a 6?

It is _technically_ against departmental policy to smoke inside a city owned vehicle, but as a junior, I felt it was my place to just roll down my window, keep my mouth shut, and create as little commotion as possible to get out on my own as soon as I could.

indeed.

Seems like a potential health risk too,
"side stream" smoke is 400% more carcinogenic than what is inhaled by the smoker

It's a 6. Memphis is a "non high speed pursuit" city. There are a few Police Interceptors in the fleet but as they die they were being replaced w/ Chevy Impalas and Ford Tauruses, but they have finally standardized on Dodge dectrepids

Congrats! You're a better man than I, Gunga Din. I can't stand cigarette smoke. I'm afraid if somebody lit up in a car with me, it might very well trigger those latent homicidal tendencies...
"Uh... No, I don't know what happened to my partner. I went in to use the bathroom and when I came back out, there he was, dead. No, I can't imagine how that pack of cigarettes got jammed down his throat. And is that a lighter I see protruding from his ass?! Gosh!"
