I am looking to buy a new bike but am not sure how best to proceed. I had a Trek Hybrid which got stolen two years ago and I have not really ridden since and want to get back into it. I can't afford to spend much more than $500. Can I still get a decent bike for that amount or should I wait until I can afford a better one? Is it worth trying to get a second-hand bike from craigs list or another site? I was online and came across a book for $9.95 offering advice on how to buy a good bike at www.bikebuying.com. Does anyone know if it is a worthwhile purchase?
