Got Nakamura now Tempted towards Giant

Since there have been no responses, let me rephrase my above question:
Which is better ? A road bike($400) or a touring road bike($800) ? I will not tour for more than 2 or 3 days, however, might make long trips if there is a big emergency.

Please advice.

Does either bike fit properly? The best fitting one is the best bike.

What materials are they made from? A steel bike is probably more comfortable. What is the size, frame geometry, wheel type? etc..etc

There are so many trade offs to get "the best" bike.

Usually it comes down to the one that fits. If you only spent $400 how good could it be?

If the proper sized bike is bigger than 56cm get any touring bike you want, steel framed.

If your smaller make sure it has a 73° to 74° seat tube, nothing more!

Thanks, I was told to avoid steel frames as they are ehavy and go for Aluminium.
