  1. Alas once again some of my fellow long time recumbo posters have been tricked in responding to some
rather malicious posts by what clearly were posted by some LOSER / TROLLS. So here's some tips to
hopefully keep my valued friends from WASTING their time on these GOOFY TROLLS!

How to spot a TROLL post?

    1) A post whose title line contains malicious, inflammatory or insulting remarks about recumbents,
people, etc. With the thread content likewise infested with malicious, inflammatory or
    insulting remarks.

    2) In the"From" column, the Author is not a usual, recognized poster.

    --------------------------------------------
    Remedy?

    3) DON'T respond to these GOOFY posts! Ignore them completely! Usually the scummy TROLLS will see no
one is falling for their [censored] and move on to other NG's, in search of victims.

    4) Add the LOSER / TROLL idiot to your Troll / Garbage file filtering process. My newest members
    are: "dumbo" and Sam Longer.

    5) Remember, IDIOT TROLLS that post [censored] like what's presently posted are merely trying to achieve a
CHEAP THRILL by inciting usual posters to respond in some emotional manner. Don't waste your time
with these ABSOLUTE SCUM BAG LOSER TROLLS!!! EZ Biker :-) (Bacchetta Aero Pilot)

Well, I can see that EZ Biker likes things to be all sweetness and light. But I really enjoyed
Dumbo's and Sam Longer's posts to this newsgroup. I guess I wouldn't want a study diet of them any
more than the notorious Fabrizio, but I found them to be mildly hilarious. Where is the harm of it?

There are some on this newsgroup who are taking everything way too serious. I say lighten up, relax,
sit back and enjoy. The world and this newsgroup will go on whether we are here to monitor it or
not. I have noted of late that even the dour Mr. Sherman is full of wit and asides lately that
spring from cuckoo land. If it weren't for a bit of levity, we might all go crazy.

  3. Lighten up, I for one found a great deal of humor and "funning" in Captain Greybeards 3 reviews.

  4. WELL I see what kind of mildly hilarious sense of humor Ed has. Sweetness and light posts? ME? EZ
Biker? Ed you truly don't understand me well. Mildly hilarious posts are one thing, but TASTELESS,
insulting posts about someone or their product, is something I can live without. EZ (Don't TROLL on

  5. Nashbar has Carbon Forks on sale at $49.95. They are JIS (Japanese Industry Standard)

As far as I can tell, the difference is 27mm crown race diameter versus
    26.4mm Campanolo size.

Do you wrenches out there know if 1. This is the only difference; and 2. Can I machine the
    race down?

Sheldon Brown say I can. I'm just double checking.

    Thanks in advance,

    Tom

this insecurity masked as overzeleous product loyalty is hysterical

the manufacturers are probably laughing their butts off

too bad their customers have no sense of humour

    ya'll take yourselves too seriously

Yep- I did this a couple months back fitting a GT fork on an old Raliegh for my beater bike. Suntour
    Superbe headset, too.

The only thing I'd worry about is cutting a too-sharp corner on the top of the fork crown. This
could create a stress riser which would eventually crack. If it's possible, I'd rather find a 27.0mm
crown race instead of cutting down the fork crown.

It is quite funny when it is being pointed out that recumbent cyclists tend to be on the heavy side
and yet want to be fast, but are actually quite slow. Quite a contradiction here, don't you think?

Those who are always seeing insult where none is intended are an aggravation to the rest of us who
have our heads screwed on straight. Tastelessness is part of American culture. Please try to get
    some perspective.

Your mind works in devious ways, skip. Why can't I ever think of stuff like this!
