You don't want a railtype seatpost for trials.
Railtype seatposts are preferable for long distance riding such as
Cokering, Schlumpfing and 29er'ing (that's a long of "ings" there)
where the angle adjustment ability is ideal for making things slightly
more comfortable when you're sitting on the saddle for a long time.
They're good for muni as well, where you sit down most of the time and
they can handle the stresses that occasional hopping and hill climbling
can make.
But trials is probably a bit too stressful for them, as you spend most
of your time hopping about as opposed to riding from place to place.
Because of that you spend more time standing on the pedals and hence no
weight on the seat, so the angle adjustment advantage is hardly
noticeable.
