Why would it be a mortal insult if someone who knows how to race uses
a triple on one of the hardest climbs in Europe?

Race commentary on both Eurosport and RAI said some riders were using
triples. And, seriously - no shame using a triple on that hill.

Cheap shot of the day...
Love that shot in the link above. I see these and think yowsa can't
wait to see Graham Watson's but his give little perspective of the event
beyond just some more dudes riding hard. GW needs to get off the moto
now and again and get some shots like this. Giro is a beauty, show a
little of it.
To be fair and balanced...
Can anyone tell what event and what year the CN link is from?
From an someone who lives these events through the internets...
Thanks to any and all who publish their work, unless your initials are
JS then you owe me a beer and some film ;-)

Those are some really great photo's from what looks to have been a beautiful day
of racing. Kinda wish the photog had two legs of the same length that
over-leaning into the hill dilutes the effect of just how steep some of that
stuff is.

I've seen VdB ride a triple. If God did it, then everyone is allowed
to.

Ah. So that's why he finished 2 minutes down.

What are they, soft? Come on!
Why in my day the lowest we used was 42x19! Well, some of the boys
would use 42x21 occassionally, but we'd never talk about it. "What are
you doing, planning to get dropped?" was the line when someone would
resort to a gear like that. Or "Is this the MS 150 ride?"
