  1. OK, can someone tell me what kind of bottom bracket I have and what tool I need to get it off. I hope these photos show it well enough. The cranks are Sugino if that helps😕 ...And yes, I know, it does look like C--P.... This is why I need to get it out to clean! Thanks.🙂

  2. Nothing fancy, it looks liks an ordinary square drive, shimano or similar. 🙂

Tool, depends on the brand, but the standard Shimano type BB tool is it.

Thanks, George. I bought the Park BBT-19 parktool.comdetail.asp
and feel like a deer in the headlights looking at the directions and the tool. Is this the right one?

  4. big whoops! you have the tool for the new external BB's, not the one you need. you need the park bbt-2 lor the new bbt-22, which replaces it.

The story of my life.... 🙁 Thanks all. I'll hunt for one this week.

  6. Sorry in advance if you know this, but don't forget that the right BB cup has a reverse thread.

  7. With the way bottom brackets keep changing I have given up buying the tools.
I now borrow from my friendly bike shop. Thanks Bill and Loyd.
